Drug name: Generic Xenical (Orlistat)
Therapeutic effects: The drug works by inhibiting the effects of gastrointestinal lypase, this decreasing the amounts of fat absorbed into the blood stream. The drug is intended to be taken during food intake in order to affect the normal food digestion. The inactivated enzyme lypase loses its ability to break down fats to its low molecular components, thus the fat is not digested.
